    Starting your St. Vincent sailing itinerary week off in Blue Lagoon Marina, in Ratho Mill, St. Vincent – first you’ll need to check-in, get your boat stocked and loaded, and make sure you have everything you need. Nearby there is an IGA supermarket, where you can find provisions for your trip. From Blue Lagoon you can begin your journey to Mustique, which is about a 2 hours away. Bought in 1958 by Lord Glenconner, Mustique is a private island which was designed to be a hideaway for the rich and famous. These days the island is owned and managed by the Mustique Company, which is owned by those who have real estate and land on this tropical paradise. While you are on the island the Mustique Company offers an array of activities, including hiking, water sports, tennis, yoga and spa treatments. See their full offerings online. Mustique is also a great place to soak up the sun, on beautiful white sand beaches. Recommended Restaurants and Activities: For the second stop on our St. Vincent’s sailing itinerary, you will sail to Tobago Cays. This spot is renowned as one of the most beautiful anchorages. Featuring an extraordinary horseshoe reef, Tobago Cay is the perfect snorkeling spot. Getting There

The best way to get to St. Vincent is by flying into Barbados, which has one of the Caribbean’s major airports. You can also fly in to St. Lucia, Grenada, or Trinidad. From any of these hubs you can get a connecting flight to St. Vincent, via a local Caribbean airline. There are two main airlines that will connect to the E. T. Joshua Airport in Kingstown, St. Vincent: LIAT and SVD. LIAT offers the most flights out of all the other major stops, but SVD could offer better options if you’re connecting in Barbados.

Weather

The best sailing weather for the St. Vincent sailing itinerary is…all the time! With very steady temperatures, the average high for December – March is 28°C, and around 31°C in the summertime. January to May is considered the dry season in St. Vincent. However, the rainy season, which features scattered showers during the day, is also quite sunny. Don’t worry too much about hurricane season as the islands are very far south, where storms scarcely reach. Wind conditions on a St. Vincent sailing itinerary make for some of the best sailing conditions in the world. Winter winds are usually northeast, 15 – 25 knots, and summer winds come from the south-east, around 15 -25 knots.
